Microsoft is gearing up for the next generation of Xbox and it has got us all excited. The Head of Xbox said Microsoft is working hard on a next-gen console which will also have a Cloud Service, allowing players stream games to any device. In the recent ‘console war’, Sony’s PlayStation 4 clearly dominated the charts and the Microsoft’s Xbox One was not able to do as well as they expected it to. There is a lack of availability for the games on Xbox we really want to play, whereas Xbox 360 was able to beat the PS3 quite easily. Sony too is working on the successor of the PlayStation 4.
The E3 is short for Electronic Entertainment Expo which was first held on May 11th, 1995, about 23 years ago. The event is a common platform for Developers, Publishers, and Manufacturers to talk about their upcoming work and products. Earlier, E3 was an exclusive event and you had to personally be invited by someone in the ‘video game’ industry to get in, although it is not the case anymore.
The E3 2018 is being held from June 12th to June 14th at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, where some of the major presenters are Bethesda Softworks, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Square Enix, Sony, and Ubisoft.
At the Microsoft’s press conference, they showcased around fifty games and Yes, good news for you ‘Halo’ fans out there, ‘Halo Infinite’ is back. The other games Microsoft talked about at the conference was Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Nier: Automata, Metro Exodus, Kingdom Hearts III, Sea of Thieves, Battlefield V, Cyberpunk 2077. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Fallout 76, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Session, Black Desert Online, Devil May Cry 5, Forza Horizon 4, We Happy Few, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Tales of Vesperia, Gears Pop, Gears Tactics, Gears 5, Cuphead, Tunic, Jump Force, Dying Light 2, Battletoads, Just Cause 4, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, Crackdown 3.
Microsoft is leaving no stone turned while it prepares for the next-generation of Xbox. Since there are sequels of previous blockbuster games such as Halo and Fallout. Even PUBG support (Player Unkown’s Battleground) was launched on Mobile devices recently. There are discussions about how Microsoft is planning to use AI to make gaming experiences even better.

Microsoft Is Planning 5 New Game Development Studios
To make things even more exciting, Microsoft has planned to buy five new game studios. 1 of which they are creating themselves in Southern California and the other 4 they will be acquiring, as told by the Xbox Team Chief, Phil Spencer. Spencer also said they will be making one of their biggest investments by adding five new studios before they kick off Electronic Entertainment Expo event this week.
The four-game development studios acquired by Microsoft are ‘Undead Labs’, ‘Playground Games’, ‘Ninja Theory’ and ‘Compulsion Games’. The 5th studio Microsoft will be established on its own will be called the ‘The Initiative’.
