Verizon Safe Wi-Fi
US Based network service provider Verizon recently introduced it’s own mobile VPN service called Safe Wi-Fi, which will have the capability to hide a user’s IP address when using public networks. The VPN is market towards people who are perhaps traveling, and they want to protect their WIFI connection on -the -go, maybe in a café, hotel or similar. The service claims that it will protect users against targeted ads, and will provide a more secure and reliable option for users connected to a public WI-FI network.
One can download access this app via the devices AppStore, or access it via the My Verizon app. The interface will be pretty easy to use, where it will give users graphical interface details to let them customize their settings accordingly. Verizon is one of the companies that wanted to repeal some of the regulations protecting internet privacy in the US and the main focus of this app is ad blocking.
Safe Wi-Fi aims to protect users logging on to public networks by creating a secure online connection for users accessing the internet on their mobile device. Users can also designate so-called “Trusted Networks” such as those in their home, which will not be affected by Safe Wi-Fi. This app works only for Verizon customers on iOS and Android devices and costs $3.99 monthly per account, which will cover up to 10 devices. Currently, Verizon is offering this as a free trial for the first 30 days.
