The founders of Canva, Cameron Adams, Cliff Obrecht and Melanie Perkins introduce the Canva For Districts product at a sponsored educational event. This took place at the company’s new Austin headquarters.
Canva, the world’s only all-in-one visual communication platform, today added Canva for Districts to its rapidly expanding product portfolio, just two months after launching its Canva for Campus product for colleges and universities. The release of Canva for Districts coincides with an increase in school adoption of Canva, which has increased by more than fivefold over the past year. Canva for Districts provides new visual communication and collaboration tools for large school districts.
Concerning Canva for Districts
Canva for Districts grants free access to Canva’s array of education tools to entire school districts. From lesson plans and classroom posters to infographics and certificates, Canva has become an indispensable resource for under-resourced and overworked teachers who require an intuitive solution without a precipitous learning curve. The launch coincides with an increase in demand for visual communication in the classroom, with over 600,000 institutions around the world now using Canva for education.
Canva for Districts combines the best of Canva’s Visual Suite, which includes Presentations, Documents, Websites, Video, and Print, with a number of specialized learning-at-scale features.
This comprises the following features:
- Single Sign-On (SSO) provides simple district-wide access and deployment options.
- School Brand Kits for the streamlined administration of school brands
- Account provisioning and publication controls that are centralized
- Integration with Learning Management Systems such as Google Classroom that is seamless.
- Free professional development resources
- Dedicated district infrastructure to maximize the educational potential of visual communication
Cameron Adams, co-founder and chief product officer of Canva, remarked, “Canva is an indispensable tool for educators who want to inspire students’ creativity, ingenuity, and boundless imagination.” “Canva for Districts is yet another way we’re democratizing design, and the education community has never been a more appropriate or ardent audience. Already, more than 45 million educators and students use Canva each month, so we’re thrilled about the increased impact we’ll have in the classroom.
Prior to today’s official public launch, nearly three million teachers and pupils from districts such as Austin Independent School District, Fairfax County Public Schools, and Wichita Public Schools have been using Canva for Districts.
Rob Dickson, the Chief Information Officer for Wichita Public Schools, remarked, “This partnership represents a tremendous opportunity to provide free cutting-edge learning tools to the many students we serve.” “Our innovative teachers and staff now have free access to a robust new platform that inspires creativity, engages 21st century learners, and equips students with tomorrow’s skills.”
This week, Canva announced Canva For Districts at the inauguration of its campus in Austin, Texas, where it hosted a number of events for local education communities. This included hands-on learning activities and design workshops for educators, in addition to a presentation by our founders. In addition to the new office in Austin, the company has recently opened its first European campus in London and a new campus in Melbourne, Australia. Canva currently has eight offices around the globe and is planning to add more than 1,300 employees by the end of the year.
